4 of the Best Caves in Jamaica to Visit
1. Pirate’s Cave at Rockhouse
Have you ever seen the movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? Well, you can see where they filmed some of the scenes in person when you visit Pirate’s Cave at our sister property, Rockhouse! The cave itself is located in the water. If you are visiting the cave, do not go during high tide. When you do visit, the water will be less than 5 feet deep so you can comfortably stand, relax, and take it all in before getting out.
2. Roaring River
The Roaring River is one of our favorite places to send guests during their stay at Skylark Negril Beach Resort. Not only is the scenery beautiful here, but it’s also off the beaten path so it is rarely busy. The Roaring River gets its name because of the melodious sound it makes against the rocks, and you’ll love listening to it when you’re in the caves here. Inside, your guide will show you the gorgeous natural rock formations and give you a chance to take advantage of the healing qualities of the mineral water inside.
3. Blue Hole Mineral Spring
The Blue Hole Mineral Spring is a breathtaking cavern that goes deep beneath the earth’s surface. Jump 22 feet into its healing waters, or opt to use the convenient ladder to make your way inside. Once you make your way in, you can relax and float the day away in its healing mineral waters. Vacation is all about relaxation, and it is believed that these waters help relieve aches and pains as well as calm the mind.
4. The Throne Room
If you’re planning on scuba diving during your stay at Skylark Negril Beach Resort, the Throne Room needs to be on your list! This spot is one of the best underwater caves in Jamaica. This gorgeous reef is found in a large cavern. Inside, you’ll find a brilliantly colored coral reef. When you exit, you’ll see why the Throne Room got its name: a large sponge resembles a throne.
